Here is my 16 week belly pic, not too exciting but thought I better start taking them. I went for my third doctor appointment which was same as always. Good blood pressure and the baby's heartbeat was good (160 BPM). I've been feeling little kicks for the past few weeks. The baby is 4.5" long (about the size of an avocado.
I had my second doctor appointment at 13 weeks. I got to hear the heartbeat for the first time. With Dayton it took her forever to find it the first time, but this time she found it right away, which was a lot less stressful. I hadn't gained any weight since the last appointment, probably because of nursing Dayton still, but Dr. Schuurman said it was fine as long as I wasn't losing weight.

I called the doctor's office to see if I had to come in right away or if I could come in for my first appointment later. They said I needed to come in for a physical, so my first appointment was July 5th. It wasn't really all that eventful, pee in a cup so they can do a pregnancy test (positive), blood pressure (128/80), listen to my heart, listen to my lungs, poke me in the stomach, "OK you're healthy". We didn't really need to go through too much information since it was all pretty fresh in my mind. Dr. Schuurman gave me the paperwork for blood work that needs to be done near the end of September, and filled out some other paperwork so that she could schedule my ultrasound for 19 weeks. The next time I go in is at 12 weeks, when we should be able to hear the heartbeat.
Right now I'm 7 weeks, so the baby is about 1/2 an inch long (or for Terrah who likes the fruit comparisons, "about the size of a raspberry"). Click here for more 7 week details.
We just found out we are expecting baby number 2! I did a home test and got a big fat positive. Aaron was having a really bad day, so I tried to wait until he was in a better mood to tell him. That never really happened so I just told him anyways. After that he was in a great mood! He is so excited about this one, much more than the first time. He says it's because this time he knows what the end result is... hahaha... Aaron is hoping for a girl, but I want a boy so Dayton has a playmate (and I can re-use ALL these clothes). The ring test from before said boy, girl, boy, boy, girl... so it says girl this time. The kids will be about a year and 4 months apart, and 2 school grades apart. I'm due Feb 21, 2008. I haven't made a doctors appointment yet, because last time all I did is pee in a cup just to find out that yes, I am indeed pregnant, go home and make an appointment for 12 weeks..... thanks. I think I'll just phone them and see if I can just make the 12 week appointment.
